How to Setup an Open Sign Up Event

This article explains how as an admin you can setup an open sign up event for students. Open sign ups can be used to create a simple slot schedule for students to sign up for without having the overhead of pre-selection or having the event be tied directly to a company. They are designed to be incredibly flexible, and be used for multiple types of events.

 Instructions

  1. To create a new open sign up, from the CM Jobs Admin site, click Interviews and Sign UpsManage Open Sign Ups from the top navigation.

  2. From this screen, you can see all of the existing open sign ups. You can edit or delete those events, or view their slots. For now, we’ll just add a new event.

  3. To begin creating a new open sign up, click the Create Open Sign Up Event button.

  4. Begin filling out the form with the details of your open sign up event. Date of Event should be your event date. This is displayed for students when they are signing up. Sign up Start should be the date you want students to start being able to sign up. Sign ups will begin that day at 12:01 AM. Sign Up Close should be the day before you want sign ups to end. Students will have until 12:01 AM on the SIgn Up Close Date day to finish signing up. We will be updating this to allow admins to control the exact date and and time of closing soon.

  5. We can view the slots that we created for this event (and also viewed who signed up) by going to ActionsSign Up Slots on the event. Once students begin to sign up, their names will appear next to the slot.
