Themes
Every site with the exception of the Nancy Richardson Design Center site, should be using the CSU CHHS Child Theme (which is configured by default).
Customize
Site Identity
Enter the full name of the academic unit, lab, center, etc. in the Site Title field
Remove Tagline if one exists
Add site Icon
Homepage Settings
Your homepage displays - select “A static page” option
Select the Homepage from the dropdown
Menus
Both CHHS and RDC themes have six main regions for menus throughout the site (this does not include page level sidebar navigation)
Select a menu from the dropdown or click the link to “create a new menu”
Add pages or custom links to the menu
Click the down arrow on the menu to view the menu item details
Modify URL, navigation label, move location, or remove completely
The checkbox at the bottom will indicate the display location of the menu
Click “Save Menu” after you’ve made changes
Sitewide Alert
Sitewide alerts are reserved for campus emergencies like campus closures. The alert will display on ALL web pages within the CHHS WordPress environment.
Insert headline and body text
Select an icon
Choose the severity level from the drop down
Normal will have a white background
Warning will be yellow
Emergency will be red
Toggle on the “Display Sitewide Alert”
Click “Update”
Site-Specific Alert
Site-specific alerts are restricted to the subsite where the alert is set but all the same settings apply as those listed above.
You can have both sitewide and site-specific alerts displaying simultaneously. The sitewide will display directly above the site-specific alert.
Site Header
Most every site uses a custom title and link.
Select “Customize Title and LInk”
Enter the site title and URL
For Academic Unit site enable the College Home Bar
Click “Update”
Footer Content
Footer information is displayed in the leftmost column in the footer. Enter all pertinent information for the unit and click “Update”
