How to Create a Survey Instance (Individual)
Once you’ve created a survey, you can create a survey instance. A survey instance is what connects the person receiving the feedback with those who are providing it. If Person A is to receive feedback from Person B and Person C, a survey instance will need to be created. Without a survey instance, a survey simply exists in the abstract sense, not actually assigned to any specific people.
To access survey instances that you’ve created, navigate to the Survey Instances page.
The filtering sidebar on the left allows you to view survey instances for different surveys. You can also search for a specific subject of a survey by entering their name in the search box.
To create a new survey instance, click the Create Survey Instance button at the top of the page.
You will then be taken to a form with several fields and many checkboxes.
First, select the subject of the survey. This is the person who is being given feedback by others. In other words, the respondents of the survey will be giving their observations and opinions about this person. You can search for an individual by entering (all or part of) their name in the search box.
Once you’ve selected a subject, select a survey that you’ve already created.
The next step is to select who you’d like to invite to fill out this survey. You can use pre-defined groups to target everyone in a certain group, and you can also pick individual people. Use the search box to narrow down the list.
If you’d like to add someone who is not in the list (or you just can’t find them), you can use the Add a new user link at the bottom of the page and type in their name.
Finally, click submit at the bottom of the page.
