Introduction

Welcome to the Scholarships Getting Started Guide. This document will cover scholarship features and the basics of using the app.

Scholarship Attributes

Scholarships have several attributes assigned to them that are used for classification:

  • Scholarship Type refers to the range of students that may be nominated for a given scholarship. Options for this feature are All College, Interdepartmental, and Unit.

  • Active is a True or False attribute that indicates whether the scholarship is active for the current year.

  • Academic Unit refers to a department with students eligible for the scholarship. A scholarship may also be Interdepartmental or All College.

  • Academic Program refers to specific programs of study that a student must belong to for eligibility.

  • Award Type indicates whether the scholarship is entered into BBAM, the platform used by all of CSU for scholarship applications. Options for this feature are BBAM or Non BBAM.

  • Fund Type specifies whether the scholarship is funded annually or by a one-time investment. Options for this feature are Annual or Endowed.

  • Competitive is a True or False attribute that indicates whether the scholarship is awarded as a result of judges scoring nominees on various criteria.

  • Renewable is a True or False attribute specifying whether the scholarship award can span multiple years.

  • Financial Consideration is a True or False attribute indicating whether the nominees' financial situation will be taken into account for the scholarship award.

  • Splittable is a True or False attribute describing whether a fund may be split between multiple recipients.

Navigating the App

Upon first opening the Scholarships app, you will be taken to a search engine of all scholarships for the College of Health & Human Sciences. The left sidebar allows you to filter by scholarship attributes, listed above. You may also use the search bar to filter scholarships by a keyword.

  • Each scholarship has a tab for viewing additional details, including a list of donors and extra notes about eligibility requirements.

  • Scholarships also have a page for viewing information about nominees and recipients, which may be filtered by year.

  • If the scholarship is competitive, a scoring tab will be available showing all scorable nominees.
